A Story That Changes Lives
Some stories are too important to stay silent.
Francesco Salerno travels to churches, hospitals, and institutions whenever his health allows, to do something simple and profound: sit with people, look them in the eye, and tell them the truth about what he has been through.
Diagnosed with a life-threatening form of leukemia, Francesco faced a prognosis that left little room for hope. What followed was a journey of faith, prayer, and community, and a recovery that his own doctors found difficult to explain. He calls it a miracle.
Although he remains incurably ill, recently available treatments have given him back his strength and his voice. He is using both.
Why This Cause Needs Funding
Although the foundation is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, these visits require real resources.
Travel, accommodation, coordination with hosting churches and institutions, and careful planning around Francesco's medical schedule all carry a cost. Without support, the visits stop.
Your donation funds:
- The cheapest available flights, booked in advance and with no extras, to get Francesco to each speaking engagement and back home
- A single night in a church guesthouse, a basic hostel, or wherever a local community can offer a bed
- Public transport and simple home-cooked or budget meals for the duration of each visit
- Basic printed materials and the coordination work needed to make each event happen
- Follow-up pastoral care for people who reach out after hearing the testimony
Our goal of €2,000 reflects our estimated yearly costs for 8 speaking visits across Europe, departing from Bulgaria where Francesco is based. We keep costs as low as possible: budget flights there and back average €150 per trip, a single night in a church guesthouse or basic hostel runs around €25, and local transport and simple meals add roughly €30 per visit. That comes to €205 per visit, or €1,640 across 8 visits. The remaining €360 covers printed materials, communications, and basic coordination throughout the year.
What Your Donation Actually Does
When Francesco stands before a room of people who have lost hope, patients, families, people in recovery, people in the middle of their hardest chapter, something shifts. Because of what he represents: living proof that the worst news does not have to be the final word.
That moment is what your donation makes possible.
